=Causes=&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
The {{Chipname|68k}} didn&#039;t receive a reply to command $01 from the {{Chipname|Z80}} in time. The Z80 doesn&#039;t test the [[SM1]] ROM, its [[Z80 RAM|RAM]] nor the {{Chipname|YM2610}} but if any of those components are bad, they can prevent the Z80 from being able to reply which will then cause the error.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
=Repair suggestions=&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
On [[MV1F]] boards, this error seems common due to trace cuts caused by a [[corrosion|leaking battery]]. A few [[trace patching|wires]] can solve the problem.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
* Check Z80 +5V supply, reset and [[clock]] signals&lt;br /&gt;
* Check connectivity to Z80 work RAM&lt;br /&gt;
* Check connectivity to SM1 ROM or cartridge&#039;s M1 ROM&lt;br /&gt;
* Check {{Chipname|NEO-D0}} Z80 control lines&lt;br /&gt;
* Check Z80 data bus at {{Chipname|NEO-C1}}&lt;br /&gt;
* ...&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Note: Replacement SMT Z80s can be found in some Ti calculators :)&lt;br /&gt;

Multi-slot boards, use a different pinout based on Jamma commonly refered as &#039;MVS pinout&#039;, this has a couple of changes mainly because of the different nature of the boards, like having Stereo and the need to change the currently playing game title by pressing the &#039;SELECT&#039; button.&lt;br /&gt;

Multi-slot boards, use a different pinout based on Jamma commonly refered as &#039;MVS pinout&#039;, this has a couple of changes mainly because of the different nature of the boards, like having Stereo and the need to change the currently playing game title by pressing the &#039;SELECT&#039; button.&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;br /&gt;
Like true JAMMA edges, the pad pitch is .156in (3.96mm). There are 28 pins per side (key included), 56 total.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Many harnesses use regular 56 pin board connectors which don&#039;t have the key to avoid accidentally plugging them backwards. Doing so will certainly fry the inputs chip ({{Chipname|NEO-C1}}...), be careful.&lt;br /&gt;

Note that the G, I, O, and Q letters aren&#039;t used to avoid confusion with other characters.&lt;br /&gt;

&lt;div&gt;[[MVS]] edge connectors aren&#039;t fully JAMMA compliant depending on the model of the board.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
1-Slot boards, tend to use the JAMMA standard with only 3 boards being able to use stereo output (MV1, MV1-F, MV1-FS).&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Multi-slot boards, use a different pinout based on Jamma commonly refered as &#039;MVS pinout&#039;, this has a couple of changes mainly because of the different nature of the boards, like having Stereo and the need to change the currently playing game title by pressing the &#039;SELECT&#039; button.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Please refer to the [[MVS user manual]] of the specific board model, for a better understanding of the type of pinout it uses.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Like true JAMMA edges, the pad pitch is .156in (3.96mm). There are 28 pins per side (key included), 56 total.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Many harnesses use regular 56 pin board connectors which don&#039;t have the key to avoid accidentally plugging them backwards. Doing so will certainly fry the inputs chip ({{Chipname|NEO-C1}}...), be careful.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Note that the G, I, O, and Q letters aren&#039;t used to avoid confusion with other characters.&lt;br /&gt;
